Independence Debate Webquest

This is the "Independence Debate" webquest. Throughout this webquest, you will examine the differing opinions delegates of the Second Continental Congress had regarding possible independence from Great Britain. At one end of the debate, many delegates, led by John and Samuel Adams, wanted war for complete separation from British rule. The other end, which was led by Pennsylvania's John Dickinson, wanted a reconciliation with the British powers. Debates were fiery and long between the two main sides as every delegate knew that a declaration of independence would immediately label each of them as traitors according to the British government.
