Task
In groups of six, you will be reenacting the debates that took place during this Continental Congress session. In order to complete this task, each group must research, through the internet, who were the major adversaries, what they each said regarding the issue, how their opinions were influenced by recent British policies toward the colony they represented, etc. Each group will utilize this extensive research to conduct a 20-minute reenactment of arguably the most crucial debate in American history. Each group will have members representing delegates who were for war and full secession from Great Britain and delegates who were for reconciliation with Great Britain through other manners. This reenactment doesn’t just have to “be held” during the Continental Congress. There can be behind-the-scenes discussions that surely took place during this historical time in Philadelphia.
